O Star

Many of you may not know how important music is to me. I don't wear it like a badge of identity, I don't keep up on bands or concerts or the top 40, but from the depths of my soul I crave the feel of the magical mix of lyrics and melody that's like no other. Am I making sense? I don't love music like most people love the culture, the gloss, the popular. I love the emotions that music creates.

I help crazy teen girls find "coping skills" to healthily handle their lives. I think my best 'coping skill' is to drive with music so loud it hurts your ears, and just feel. I don't feel a lot. I'm pretty numb to life - maybe I have to be to do the job I do. But music helps me feel.

Today's mad song: Santa Monica by Everclear
Today's soul song: O Star by Paramour

Yesterdays Life song: Franklin by Paramour

What are your best feeling songs?

Hmm...I've had Speak Easy stuck in my head for the past many days. My favorite angry song is definitely "Misery Business" although I'm not quite sure why...

Do you feel by the Rocket Summer is a good angry song. I love to sing along to Paper Bag by Fiona Apple that song almost always puts me in a better mood, not to mention a little of the Hippos. you know that hit band that you listened to in High School?

Lately I'm into spanish music. Well really, just Juanes. I love his song "Para tu amor". I like it because I can actually understand it.

Good Question- I've been working on some soundtracks lately and have come across some great new-to-me music. I have it posted on my blog, but I'd have to say my new favs are the band MUSE and Ben Folds- The Luckiest, it's a beautiful song and makes me cry every time.
