In between working full time and saving my vacation days for actual vacations, I am madly packing to move on Memorial Day. (To a smaller condo in my same neighborhood, for those of you curious.)
Any of you who know me well understand that "packing" does NOT equal simply throwing things into a box. Because I'm starting my new life in a new house, (and losing a garage), I am carefully weeding through exactly what I want, and organizing it as concisely as possible. This = mega stress. Friends have offered to help pack but I wouldn't know what to tell them! It's a slow, painstaking process.
The fact I have become the most minimalist middle-class person you can imagine helps. I don't want even one single thing in my posession that I'm not going to use in the next few years. I'll re-buy it or do without rather than have boxes of junk I'll never think to look in anyway.
I did get to take a slow morning today and this is what we did to Adrie's hair. She has a surprising lot of it.
Happy Day!

I wish I could come help you pack! Seriously, I'm the same way as you, and I'm positive I could help you there. My mom's the only one that can help me with that kind of reorganizing stuff. :) Good luck, and I want to see a picture of Adrie's hair when you take those rollers out!
When you get old like me, you'll be very glad you threw stuff out along the way. It does take a lot of energy, though. I hope you're at least listening to some fun music while you're doing it!
I am so with you on getting rid of stuff. I feel so refreshed now that my house is clean! I laughed when I found an old storage box with AJW written in your handwriting on it :) And...I hope your mail will be forwarded because you should expect something in it very soon...you'll have to send me your new addy. good luck with everything!
YAY sponge rollers! My mom would put those in my bangs when I was little and Tyler would point and laugh at me and say "funny funny funny!"..nice
Why are you moving? Hope your packing goes well. I love the sponge rollers in her hair.
Alexa - of all people in the world, I do believe you are at the top of my list for help packing. Now, if you'd start pushing your stroller tomorrow morning you might get here by my next move to help me. :)
Ahhhh... What a sweet little head of hair! Madilyn could probably handle maybe ONE roller. Do it to her again this weekend! I CAN'T WAIT to see you!
SO CUTE! I used to do that to Ashlyn's hair and I LOVED it! Now, neither girl will let me do anything fun to their hair! Although, Ashlyn did just chop off a bunch of hair. Good luck with the moving! I wish I had your method for moving! I still have boxes of junk I need to get rid of from my move LAST YEAR! Adrie really is so sweet!
I want to see what her hair looked like when you took out the rollers.
I know what you mean about getting rid of the non-essentials. We moved this weekend into a house meant for elves, I think. It will be interesting, but hurray for fresh starts (and single level homes!) (BTW this is Josh's sister-in-law)
