The Half Breed

I've decided there are two types of blogs - (1) History/Journal blogs, and (2) Witty, Random-Thoughs/Happenings blogs that are delightfully entertaining.

My blog is a mutt.

I am the only adult in my household during those evening hours when most people update their spouse/roommate/significant other on those random thoughts that give our lives true personality. Therefore, world wide web, you get my brain dumps. And Adrie updates. Thanks for listening.

  • I can't stop thinking about the Nikon D300 and how badly I want it. Thank you Amazon Reviews for leaving me drooling. So I started a little ING account to set aside photography income, determined that I will pay cash from genuine business if/when I purchase. Mmm hmm. Why do I need another camera, you ask? High ISO settings with little noise. Layman's terms? You can take pictures in the dark (almost) and still get great color, sharp images, and none of those rainbow-spot-fuzzy things called 'noise.' It's another great way to rely on technology instead of my mad skillzzz.

  • My SI joint hurts again. Bad. Just because I slept on my back the other night. Boo.

  • Lagoon! Adrie cried to get on the rides, then cried to get off. She may be a brave explorer and never once look back to see where I am, but when it comes to things that move on their own with no explanation, she's terrified. But rather than bore you with paragraphs of text re: one fun day, here are the highlights:

Sunscreen in baby's eyes * Seasick on the Merry Go-Round (me) * Puff the Magic Dragon, Airplanes, Boats, the Train Ride and growling at the bear * Re-Entry (the big, tall, drop) - 3 times with Rachel & Talia. I love that ride * Babies sleeping to "Little Mermaid" together on the bed in the motor home * the $2.50 Diet Coke 'shots' * Fried Chicken Dinner * Babies on Tidal Wave = Not Smart * Headaches from Wicked & Colossus (I'm getting old I guess) * The awesome exit directly from the park to our Campground * Laguna Beach kid's pool by myself with Adrie * Late night talks with Rachel & Mary *

Thank you G&G for a great, fun day!

YESS!! Pictures of Adrie in the baby kanye glasses! And when did Talia start looking like a real person? I'm so sad I have to be in Oregon. I promise I'll be there next summer.

That first picture of you two on some kind of ride CRACKS. ME. UP.

I saw it for the first time on my phone yesterday at a BBQ and Julie finally had to ask me why I was laughing so much. Her face is PRICELESS.

I like your mutty blog. Mostly I just hide in the back though, so you probably don't even know I'm here.

I love our family. Lagoon was a blast, wasn't it? I feel bad that I laughed so hard at Adrie on Wipeout, but it was just so darn funny in such a sad way!

I'm glad you could be with us so much this weekend! I love you!

The one of Talia and Adrie on the left makes me laugh. Rachel told me about the girls on the Tidal Wave, and that makes me laugh too.

Adrie looks terrified in that top pic of you and her on a ride - like she's holding on for dear life!!
Glad you had a fun day!

Sounds like a fun day! I can't believe Adrie is big enough to go on the rides! I think Ian would just try to climb out the whole time. :)

Good luck on the D300, it is an outstanding camera...

And don't give up on naps, it is the only reason afternoons were created...
