Once upon a time I had a Grandpa in the Army. He was of the 188th Parachute Infantry Regiment in the Army of the United States.
I found a leather-bound album from 1946 today. In all my family scanning, I've NEVER seen these pictures! They are downright breathtaking photographs, given that it was 1946 in the middle of war!
Okay, how did I miss these amazing photos--I lived in the same house with the man for 18+ years! Thanks for sharing them; it's made my day to see them. He was the man--Kendall is right.
How fun to see the pictures of Dad/Grandpa; they were hidden in a trunk at the end of our bed. Dad never was one to tell about himself unless you asked him directly. I loved your comments and I hope he can see/hear them too! This new technology is fun! Love, Grandma

So cool! Grandpa was the man.
Whoa that is sweet. I guess I just think of him as Grandpa and not really an army man.
Wow! How come I haven't heard more about this? That's so awesome!
Cool pictures. Where have they been hiding?
Beautiful pictures! I'm excited about the project. I talked to Grandma. You and I need to catch up soon!
Wow! These are amazing! I love the one of him in his uniform!
Truly amazing. He's an incredible man. A quiet giant.
