Show and Tell - 1946

Once upon a time I had a Grandpa in the Army.
He was of the 188th Parachute Infantry Regiment in the Army of the United States.

I found a leather-bound album from 1946 today. In all my family scanning, I've NEVER seen these pictures! They are downright breathtaking photographs, given that it was 1946 in the middle of war!

So cool! Grandpa was the man.

Whoa that is sweet. I guess I just think of him as Grandpa and not really an army man.

Truly amazing. He's an incredible man. A quiet giant.

Okay, how did I miss these amazing photos--I lived in the same house with the man for 18+ years! Thanks for sharing them; it's made my day to see them. He was the man--Kendall is right.

How fun to see the pictures of Dad/Grandpa; they were hidden in a trunk at the end of our bed. Dad never was one to tell about himself unless you asked him directly. I loved your comments and I hope he can see/hear them too! This new technology is fun!
Love, Grandma
