It is my GOLDEN birthday this year! I have anticipated this magical date for most of my life. To turn your given age ON the given date. 27 on the 27th. Wow. Sadly, as age seems to bring with it more down-to-earthedness, it's not as exciting as I've anticipated most of my life. It doesn't really have much to do with getting older, I'm not cliche like that.
Although my getting-older-by-the minute body is definitely complaining, and I am entirely unhappy with how.... uh.... loose in general things are. Saggy. Flabby. Got the picture yet? Oh well, it's a life well lived and a beautiful baby as a result of it, right!?
In anticipation of my birthday, here is my wishlist:
- A Hilary Weeks cd (LDS artist). Not "Lead me Home" I have that one, and not Christmas specialities. But any others I would Love Love LOVE.
- A cookie-dough scoop. I've been meaning to put this on a list for over two years and keep forgetting.
- Disney Movies and Musicals. Dig out your old VHS garage-sale-worthy movies, I will accept them with open arms. I can't wait to watch Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Oklahoma and the Cutting Edge and Beauty and the Beast and Anastasia with my kids.
Um... that's really all I can think of for now! I think that's part of getting older, too - needing/wanting less STUFF.
***Unless you accompany me to a baby-clothing store and then I will max out your credit card.

A. Cutting edge has about 1000 swear words in it
B. We have the same date of birthday, so I have to wait 8 years for my beloved 27 on 27.
aaaaand
C. Do you want me to make you a caaaake? Carrot and red velvet are my specialties, though I do have a delicious chocolate cake recipe I've been DYING to try.
The cookie dough scoop will change. your. life. I was at Target one day and just BOUGHT IT (the 1T size). It was a bit indulgent for us at the time, but I've NEVER regretted it.
Also?
My microplane for garlic, zest, etc. Makes me giddy just thinking about it.
Hi Alaina! I got your blog address from your family's Christmas letter! I love your blog. You have such a cute family. Your digital photography is awesome! I hope you're doing well!

Kendall - YES! Carrot cake pleeeeease! I really really want one and they take so much work so I haven't made one. With lots of cream cheese frosting.
Spring - Hi! I want to see your cute family, how do I get invited to your blog?
Jen - you are awesome. I envy your East Coast life. I'll think about zesting and planing.
My golden birthday is next year! 18 on the 18th, I can't wait! For your birthday I am coming to Utah! YAY! Love you
Turning six on the sixth was one of the best days of my life. I am pretty sure i got orange roller-blades and some clay bead making supplies! good times.
Golden birthday? The first time I read it I was SO confused thinking you were turning 50. Yikes. That'd make me 48, and I don't love that thought.
You HAD a cookie-dough scooper at one point. Got it for your wedding. You gave it to me when you were moving from WyMount and trying to dump some of your wedding stuff. SCORE!
