"More Milk"

Tonight we visited Discovery Park for the first time, and had a blast. I'll post a few pictures down the side of this mass block of text. Stay tuned for the good park story at the end.

Adrie goes to bed easily, but lately cries about ten minutes into it - and when I go in to see what's wrong, she says "More Milk." This happens more and more frequently, and sometimes in the middle of the night, so I've decided it's the 2 year-old version of the 7 year-old "Dad, I need a drink" in order to get attention at bedtime. It's sort of cute, and I'm happy that she wants to see me, so I guess I'm spoiling her but oh well. I did refuse to give her a third drink of milk tonight and rocked her instead. She threw up last week once after her 2nd glass of milk, so I learned that lesson quickly.
It's starting to feel like fall. I'm not ready for summer to be over yet.

I've decided to simplify life and try to be home more. I'm excited about it. So come visit me in the evenings - I should be home for real this time! Adrie seems to need me more and more, and I'm happy to be the primary influence in her life even though I'm not with her 24/7. It's sort of like the more independent she is physically, the more emotionally she wants me. I love it. I can't believe how great it is to have a little sidekick.

I made pigs in a blanket with Vienna Sausages from my food storage. Too weird - I don't recommend it.

Today I ate scrambled eggs with cheese, tortilla soup, 3 orange fantas, 1 caffeine-free Coke, and a LOT of cookies (no-bakes and jubilee jumbles), 4 cream puffs, and LOTS of Cheezits (my mouth is full right now. Orange Fanta #4 to my right. I love being a grown up.

I forgot to post this great pic from our last 'shoot.' See her wolf?

Anyway, of all the nice, normal swings at the park, she chose the one with THIS sign:
Oh well, she had a blast, and I had a good laugh.
She sort of looks like she needs it in this picture, huh!
Life is good!

I DREAD the fact that it's already starting to feel like fall and August isn't even over yet. ::sigh:: I don't know if I'm ready to face cold weather again.

Anyway, enough about me. Sound like you're doing well. I love the swing story/pictures. Too funny.

Sidekick is the perfect word for kids this age. It's so sweet because they tag along EVERYWHERE you go and manage to find something entertaining on their level wherever they are. It's so sweet! Can you believe they're going to be TWO SOON?!

I wish we could be playing at a park! In AZ at this time of year, we'd have third degree burns! Looks like fun!
