The Terrible Twos

They're great and terrible.

She starting answering a quiet "Mmm-hmm" or "Mmm-mmm" instead of yes or no, so quickly that I question if I even heard it.  She is patient and says "Mmm-hmm" or "Mmm-mmm" again when I say "What?"

She gets in moods where she says "no" to every single request, ever.

She also says "Sorry Mama."

When I ask "What's MY name?"  She says "Mama."  Until I tell her, and then she'll say in an excited voice that melts my heart, "A-way-nuh."

She's decided she hates bedtime with a passion.  She refuses to put pajamas on, she cries for hours in her bed, as soon as it gets dark she starts protesting bedtime.

She repeats words.  Today I heard her practicing "Dang it, dang it, dang it" to her doll.  Last night Kendall said something about "obscenity" in the car and yup, there goes Adrie, clear as day - "Obscenity."

She also says "Halloween!"  Here is the Halloween tree we put up today.  When my mom stayed with me and my newborn baby Adrie she gifted us the ingredients for this family tradition.  Last Halloween was too crazy to get around to it, so it's fun to see it this year and reminisce.

Yep, gotta love the two's. Sorry to say it'll probably last until she's 4. Ellie is so used to answering no she says no-yeah to almost everything even before she's heard all the question.
Love the picture :) and I've never seen a Halloween tree before.

Oh the Halloween tree. I miss it a little bit. I love that Adrie says obscenity.

Oooohhh, that Halloween tree is SCARY!!! I love it! When you told me about it I pictured Christmas Tree with bats and beetles as ornaments. This picture is much better.

Maybe Adrie is afraid of the dark?! I used to hate going to sleep too...enough so that my parents would tell me they would cut off all my hair if I didn't go to bed RIGHT THEN. I was never afraid of the dark. Just didn't want to go to bed yet. Maybe you should threaten to cut off Adries hair...:)

Or not. :)
